All participants provide documented informed Text Messaging consent prior to enrollment (an email PDF form). A copy of a blank PDF form is can be seen here.
Consent explicitly includes permission to:
Share a mobile phone number with the research team
Receive study-related text messages (SMS/MMS)
Participation is voluntary. Participants may opt out or withdraw at any time without penalty. These messages are non-commercial, non-marketing, and are sent solely for research and participant support purposes.
Text messages sent through the NNSN program may include:
Survey reminders related to the research study
Study activity reminders, such as links to surveys, videos, or documents
Scheduling reminders for study-related activities
Include embedded web links to the featured content and the NNSN participant site.
Some participants may also be encouraged to visit a private, member-only website that provides evidence-based resources to support wellbeing, resilience, and professional transition during the first year of nursing practice.
Participants will receive no more than 4 messages per month.
Message frequency is limited and predefined as part of the IRB-approved research protocol.

Charges are determined by your mobile carrier and plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Participants may opt out of the message program at any time by:
Replying STOP to any study text message
Visiting the participant Help page on the NNSN website
Contacting the study team using the support information below
After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation text. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device unless you re-enroll. Opting out of messaging does not terminate your participation in the NNSN research study; however, future communication may occur via other study approved channels.

This research study has received Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval through Towson University and follows all federal and ethical guidelines for human subjects research.
Text messaging is an IRB-approved component of the research intervention and is used exclusively to deliver scheduled, non-commercial messages related to participant wellbeing and study activities. No marketing, solicitation, or third-party data sharing occurs. Participant confidentiality is protected in accordance with university data security standards.
